Note: This song is in Hindi language, and the title also uses the word āratī as
used in Hindi. This word traces its origin to the Saṃskṛta word ārati, which means
cessation. During the traditional nīrājanam performed to any deity, the camphor burns
and ceases to exist, symbolically offering itself to Bhagavān. Similarly, the Gītā āratī is
a symbolic way of ending the pārāyaṇa, offering ourselves completely to Gītā mātā and
Bhagavān Śrīkṛṣṇa.
