in the Gītā, and their simple meaning .
Note: All names are given in Sambodhana Vibhakti (Vocative case) which is used for addressing a person

1. अ ुत - न वते । Imperishable.

2. अन - न व ते अ ं य सः । He who has no end.

3. अन रूप - अन ा न रूपा ण य सः । The one with infinite
manifestations.

4. अन वीय - अन ं वीय य सः । He whose prowess is infinite.
1 Note that the bhāṣya-s give multiple interpretations for many of these names,
bringing out the various aspects. What we have given here is only the simple
etymological derivation based on kośa and vyākaraṇa.
